Catering by Seasons had the pleasure to execute Ian and Matthew’s beautiful and elegant wedding celebration in September at the Patapsco Female Institute in Ellicot City, Maryland.
This fantastic venue is just a short ride from Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C., but it is nestled in a quite woody area with old-world charm. The remaining shell of the historic manor is a rustic and elegant backdrop for weddings.
The centerpieces were stunning – with freshly cut hydrangeas, wild flowers, lavender and herbs. Each of the tables were labeled with a different herb – from rosemary to sage and basil to bay laurel.
The wedding name cards were displayed in elegant linen boxes lined with lavender and fresh herbs, making the entire space fragrant with the smell of summer.
As a party favor, Ian and Matthew offered miniature bottles of Fireball Whiskey.
Ian and Matthew wanted a fun wedding celebration, with casual seating for guests to mingle. They also creatively offered early hors d’oeuvre before the ceremony to get their guests excited.
Our signature golden gazpacho was served in individual shot glasses with flakes of chili lime spice on the rim.
The first course, a plated caprese salad with a unique basil sorbet, was made with fresh tomatoes and basil from our urban garden. Chef Kyle Vermeulen’s basil sorbet was an absolute hit among the guests!
The dinner buffet featured roasted filet of beef, salmon with a smokey tomato oil, and wild mushroom ravioli with shaved parmesan cheese.
Whenever possible, Catering by Seasons infuses delicious seasonal produce from our garden and partner farms into the meals we serve at events. During the late spring, we enjoy an abundant harvest of tomatoes, colorful peppers, herbs and more. To learn about the seasonal selections in Ian and Matthew’s wedding menu, please contact us!
The couple wrote a rave review on WeddingWire: “AMAZING! The food was outstanding. The drinks were delicious. The staff was wonderful.”
Thank you, Ian and Matthew! Congratulations on your wedding. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
